My name is Fariya Jabeen. I design every bag that FUR makes. And I need to tell you about what we have been working on.

For the past several months, I have been working with 100% genuine cow leather. Real leather. The kind that has weight. The kind that breathes. The kind that gets better — not worse — with every month you use it.

This is FUR’s first ever genuine leather collection. And it is almost here.

Why Genuine Leather? Why Now?

This is the question I have been asked more than any other since we started teasing this collection.

The honest answer is: because Pakistan deserves it. And because nobody is doing it properly.

Pakistan is one of the world’s largest leather-producing countries. Our hides are exported globally. They end up in bags that sell for tens of thousands of rupees in European boutiques. And yet — inside Pakistan, the premium genuine leather accessories market is either dominated by overpriced imported brands or simply absent.

There is no reason for this. The leather is here. The craft is here. The customers who deserve it are absolutely here. What was missing was a brand willing to do the work of bringing it all together at a price that makes sense. That is what we have spent the last several months building.

FUR has been built on premium PU leather — the best quality synthetic leather available. Our bags are excellent. But genuine leather is a different category entirely. It is not just better. It is fundamentally different in how it behaves, how it feels, and how it ages.

The Design Process — What Went Into This

Working with genuine leather for the first time taught me things I could not have learned any other way. Real leather does not forgive mistakes the way synthetic materials do. Every cut, every stitch, every edge finish is permanent. The leather will show you exactly what it is — and exactly what the hands that made it were capable of.

This raised the standards for everything. The silver brass hardware had to be heavier. The stitching had to be tighter. The edge finishing had to be cleaner. Nothing was allowed to be an afterthought.

Yes, genuine leather costs more to produce than PU leather. But no — we have not lost our minds on the pricing.
